How to Remove Things from Instagram Explore
Instagram Explore is a feature that showcases content based on your interests and activity on the platform. However, there may be times when you want to remove certain posts or content from appearing in your Explore feed. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do just that.
Step 1: Open Instagram and Go to Explore
First, open the Instagram app on your smartphone. Tap on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom right corner of the screen to access the Explore page. This is where you’ll find the content that Instagram thinks you might be interested in.
Step 2: Find the Content You Want to Remove
Scroll through the Explore page and look for the content you want to remove. It could be a post from an account you follow, a trending topic, or even a sponsored ad. Once you find it, tap on the post to open it.
Step 3: Tap on the Three Dots
After opening the post, you’ll see three dots located at the top right corner of the screen. Tap on these dots to open a menu with various options.
Step 4: Select “Hide”
In the menu that appears, you’ll find an option called “Hide.” Tap on it to hide the post from your Explore feed. A confirmation message will appear, asking if you’re sure you want to hide this post. Tap “Yes” to proceed.
Step 5: Remove Content from Your Activity
If you want to remove the content from your activity history as well, go to your profile by tapping on the profile icon at the bottom left corner of the screen. Then, tap on the three lines in the top right corner to access the menu. Scroll down and select “Activity.” Here, you’ll find a list of all the content you’ve interacted with on Instagram. Find the post you want to remove and tap on the three dots next to it. Select “Remove” and confirm your choice.
Step 6: Manage Your Interests
To prevent similar content from appearing in your Explore feed in the future, you can manage your interests. Go to your profile, tap on the three lines, and select “Settings.” Then, tap on “Privacy and Security” and choose “Interests.” Here, you can see the topics and hashtags that Instagram uses to personalize your Explore feed. Unfollow or hide any topics or hashtags that you no longer want to see.
